Trauma-Informed Weight Loss
Over the years in my hypnotherapy practice, I’ve seen how deeply connected the mind and body are—as one whole system. Again and again, I’ve noticed that ongoing struggles with weight, or even feeling preoccupied with it, often trace back to unresolved trauma. This may be something that happened long ago or something still unfolding in the present.
Trauma can take many shapes, such as:
- What happened to us — for example, abuse
- What didn’t happen for us — such as emotional neglect
- A difficult or dysfunctional environment — like comparison-focused schools, family conflict, or growing up with parental alcohol misuse

According to Kaiser Permanente Weight Loss study with 17,000 volunteers, 28% of them had physical abuse, and 21% had sexual abuse, 40% had two or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and 12.5% had four or more ACEs.

I do have some amazing news & since our last hypnotherapy, I have literally felt on top of the world! I have never felt so good & happy in my entire life. I have not binged or even thought of binging or sugar in 10-days straight. I have also been able to wake at 5am & go to the gym again! I experienced what it was like to be free of anxiety & depression for 10-days straight. I have been so productive these days and have been able to have a great social life and went out feeling great.
