Overcome Fear of Public Speaking with Hypnotherapy

Public speaking is said to be one of the greatest fears for many people. It’s the combination of social anxiety and performance anxiety. And it takes fear of being judged to the next level.

My Experience

Back in 2012, I had this wonderful idea of proposing a course that I called Self-Hypnosis for a Better Life to my local West End Community Centre in Vancouver BC. I crafted the proposal, laid out the curriculum, and planned out the length of time. I felt quite confident when I dropped the documents off.

Then one day I got a phone call from Mike, the programmer of the centre. He said they were interested in speaking further with me about the course I had proposed. I showed up at the meeting and met Mike, the nicest person I’ve met. He went ahead and showed me the rooms, we worked out the details, and we shook hands.

I went home with a pounding heart. I realized that I hadn’t actually expected them to accept the proposal. It was something that I had wanted to do yet I was secretively welcoming a rejection. But now it was real. What do I do? Maybe nobody was going to sign up…

Self-Hypnosis for My Confidence

From blushing in classrooms as a schoolgirl to becoming a teacher I have come a long way. What got me through back in 2012 was the course itself that I was going to teach. Since I advocate that Self-Hypnosis works, it just made sense for me to let it work on my own fear of public speaking. I hypnotized myself through the time leading up to my first class, so that I felt more enthused, confident and energetic, instead of nervous and anxious.

In my treatment for fear of public speaking, you will learn some powerful self-hypnosis techniques for further support.

Overcome Self-Consciousness

For many people who have a fear of public speaking, it is not the subject matter or the speaking itself, it is that they make it about themselves. Even a “humble” thought such as “I am really not good enough to speak in public,” or “They are better than me,” makes the matter about “me”. In hypnotherapy, we train the brain to keep your focus off yourself so that you can relax and enjoy the process.

Some people may have had some embarrassing moments speaking in public in the past and their emotional mind may carry the old energy to new moments. Hypnotic regression and emotional healing can be used to clear out the old baggage before embracing the new situation.

Subconscious Rehearsal

In a hypnotic state, we invite the future success to be in the present moment, so the subconscious mind, which doesn’t know what’s real or what’s imagined, is instilled with a future memory to help ease and relax the moment.
