Forgiveness has been said many times, from religions to spiritual books to psychology. Though forgiveness may be an essential key to healing, it has many charges to it. We probably all know the importance of it, so what’s the big deal for hypnotherapy to work with forgiveness?
The opposite of forgiveness is judgment, which always creates guilt. Judgment can evoke a sense of guilt in the one that has been judged. But more than this, each time that you judge anything or anyone, you may elicit guilt within yourself, as, when you judge, you move out of the flow of life. We say, “It takes one to know one.” When you judge another, there must be something within you being elicited that triggers the belief that you know exactly what that other one is up to. Sometimes we judge harshly because we fear that energy in ourselves. Or we remember how hurtful we have been when we have acted from that energy.
Other times, when trauma happens, we have no choice but judge and feel certain ways. Guilt elicits punishment. In many cases, the place that punishment happens is in our own head. That is toxic for us, especially when it becomes a way of life. Living like that, what we have not forgiven in another or in the world becomes a burden we carry within, and a reflection of what we cannot forgive of ourselves.
Fortunately, guilt can also invite forgiveness. To forgive means to choose to release another from the perceptions you have been projecting upon them through judgement. It is, therefore, an act of forgiving one’s self of one’s projections.
Imagine each one of us as a conduit of energy. To start the conduit is in perfect working order, the energy can flow so radiantly that the conduit actually becomes transparent. That is, it no longer blocks. There is no barrier or limit to the energy.
When you judge, it is as though you contract and make the walls of the conduit smaller, just like building up rust in your pipes. And the flow becomes less and less.
As you forgive judgments, it is as though the rust in the pipes is dissolving, and the walls of the pipe that are carrying the liquid of Love begin to expand and become thinner and thinner and more transparent.
Judgment is contraction. Forgiveness is relaxation, peace, and trust. Hypnotherapy can help you purify the mind and the heart and the emotional field of your own being, so you will discover that you exist only to extend Love.
