Aerophobia or Aviophobia Flight Phobia

The fear of flying is called Aerophobia or Aviophobia. Sometimes it is referred to simply as flying or flight phobia. It’s a distinct phobia of its own which can be made worse when combined with other fears, such as agoraphobia or claustrophobia.

Many people who have this intense fear have not really lived through a plane crash. The majority of these people will most likely be connecting the experience of flying with an unconscious fear of being out of control, which their subconscious mind symbolizes and then projects onto the act of flying.

Normal fear is a good thing. It’s crucial for your survival. A phobia, on the other hand, is not. In fact, it can often do more harm than good.

For example, most people naturally feel anxious when the airplane they are on experiences severe turbulence. But it doesn’t make them want to open the window and jump out, because that would be irrational. And would put them in even greater danger.

On the other hand, someone with a flying phobia might avoid getting on a plane in the first place. It can cause far more problems than just not being able to take a holiday. It has been known to prevent sufferers from attending important family events such as weddings and funerals but can also stop some sufferers from taking a promotion at work or a better job if it might mean traveling abroad and therefore, flying.

Phobias are fears that exist in the mind, in your unconscious. While the fear feels real enough, it presents little or no actual danger to you. And because these fears are linked to the unconscious, hypnosis is an effective way to deal with them. Actor, singer, and entertainer Tony Curtis used hypnosis to conquer his fear of flying, as did actress Whoopie Goldberg.

If a phobia is making your life miserable, don’t let it get you down.

Where fear of flight or Aerophobia is concerned, hypnotherapy offers a natural, efficient and effective method for managing and treating it.

It helps relax you and gives you the space to face your fears safely. It lets you put them into perspective so you can see what they’re doing to your life. It accesses some earlier memories when necessary no matter how insignificant they may appear to the conscious mind. And it gives you simple tools that make it possible to cope with phobias or eliminate them completely.

Let Kemila help you today so you can enjoy the width of life more.

Hi Kemila,

I came back a few weeks ago. The trip was great. It was more relaxing than what I was anticipating.

The pre-takeoff was pretty ok. I didn’t think much of my problem. There was a brief and sudden feeling of being trapped and short of breath shortly after airborne during the first leg. I used the tool you taught me. It was also my progress after all those sessions with you. The feeling went away almost instantly without having to go any deeper into self-hypnosis.

I was able to relax more while I was traveling on a tour bus which I had never been able to do that before.

It was a great experience. I have no way of telling how far I have come but I do believe the whole thing does take me one step closer to recovery.

It was a big milestone for me. The whole experience is telling me your sessions have helped me from inside. You’ve given me ways and tools to apply the techniques you taught but at the end, it came more naturally.

I can’t say enough to thank you for helping me to snap out of my nightmare. It was my first time ever I was able to relax and enjoy my trip.

To me, it was a remarkable journey both physically and mentally.

Thanks a zillion.

Hi Kemila,

We landed about 90 minutes ago. It went really well! I didn’t cry at all and was even able to spend the majority of the flight enjoying the movie. There were still times when I was anxious, especially during take-off as I wasn’t keen on how the ascent made my stomach feel, but it was easily the most calm I’ve been on a flight in years and years!

I used the method you gave me a few times and I listened to your recording before boarding. Both helped immensely. Even though I was anxious during some parts I still felt clear-headed, so I was able to interrupt the anxiety spiral.

Thank you so much!

M. R.
