Back in March this year, I walked into My Rest Acupuncture Studio on Main Street at 18th Avenue Vancouver. I was surprised. As beautiful, tranquil, and peaceful as the open room was, it was just, open! A few massage tables quietly bathed in soothing music and restful energy. I asked my collaboration partner Ala Wroblewska R.Ac, SSE, “How does it actually work, with multiple people being treated in the same room?” Ala looked at me, and replied, “Well, you know, in China, where acupuncture treatment started, it has always been this way.”
In my childhood, I dreamed that when I grew up, I would marry a train conductor, so I could, in my imagination, travel for free! I shared this dream with my sister and a close friend. The friend said she had a feeling, that in the future more people would be flying to travel. I should aim higher – literally, to become a pilot’s wife rather than a train conductor’s.
I breathe in the fragrance of my herbs and flowers. I planted them. Miracle grew them. And now I am grown by them. They are my teachers, as everyone and everything is my teacher.
Between two big rocks, there can be very limited soil, so limited that the eyes cannot see, but a tiny little flow can grow out of it. Life! Fragile but forever strong. Forever beautiful that’s who I am.
It was such an ease to work with Victor. Some people have that aura. I felt it when we had a Skype consultation, where he told me what he was at crossroads. He’d had a successful career over the last twenty years making video games. But there was constant stress to meet aggressive deadlines, and he would work very intensively for stretches of time, only to be laid off when the projects were over.
This time, he started to hesitate. Should he go back to making games? He knew he could easily do so, although he had begun finding the work itself less fulfilling. Or should he do something new?
Collective agreement makes us feel safe. Yet collective agreement is a TRANCE. We enter this trance, and call it “waking” state.
We are so conditioned to those standards that we fall asleep to our own inner senses. We become blind to what we truly know, inside, and we seek knowledge from outside.
Again and again and again, I’m amazed at how much resources, wisdom and creativity opening up when I induce a hypnotic trance with someone. The inner portions of a person’s identity are already aware of much that the person says he doesn’t know. My work becomes to acquaint one’s egotistical self with knowledge that is already known to a larger portion of one’s own consciousness, the one that is long ignored.
A hypnotherapist’s office may sound like an odd place to go when what you want is to get better from cysts and a brain tumor.
Yet it was out of a great deal of anxiety, frustration, sadness, embarrassment and depression that Daniela contacted me. She is 35 years old, for 12 years she has had breast cysts. 7 years ago, she started to have a brain tumor. She is currently on medication for the tumor, she has had five biopsies and four surgeries for cysts, and yet doctors can’t explain why this is happening to her, nor do they seem able to stop it regardless of the efforts. Daniela is getting married in five months, and planning to have children right afterwards. There is a sense of urgency in the situation, and she feels it’s time to understand why this is happening to her so that she can do something about it. She came for hypnotherapy sessions for past life regression. In our consultation, we agreed to have three sessions to start with. Later on, Daniela came for two more sessions.
Like many others, I’ve lived a life with a lot of searchings – The meaning of love, the wonders of what seem to work what don’t, the puzzle of my own existance. I read. I travel. I converse. I long for the answers and finally I was pointed to go deep down within myself.
We need a clear mind to achieve our goals, yet the attention to unwanted things makes our mind super busy… Clearing the mind looks very difficulty to do.
That’s when self-hypnosis becomes very useful. It makes clearing the mind fairly easy once you know how.
