Elenore was 21 years old. “What would you like to explore in the past life regression?” I asked. Elenore was obviously using her bed as the “comfortable place” I had suggested she use to help relax her mind.
Elenore said there was nothing really burning. It was mostly curiosity.
Candace looked surprised and a little delighted. I looked down at the printed note again where she had also written, “I have not lived in another country even though I have always wanted to. I never know where I should go…” It made me smile and I jokingly told her I had a feeling I was sitting with a younger version of myself.
“There’s this woman in Portugal. She is meditating, asking for guidance regarding her relationship. I’ve urged her a few times that the relationship has already ended and it was time to move on, but she didn’t listen. This time I’m going to shower her with my energy. It’s easier when she meditates. When she feels my energy, she feels safe. Then the message may get through.”
Harry wanted to explore his past lives. “I understand the physical body is just temporary,” he emphasized to me on the phone. He was a counsellor himself, but he told me that he was at a juncture in his career...
There were many times in my sessions I felt at loss. Things didn’t go as I intended, or they didn’t go as my clients expected. There were many times a session twisted itself and I found myself delivering in a very different manner from what we anticipated. And then there were times a session became so fluid that I started to wonder where this was going to go.
I remembered at the beginning of our session, Nancy specifically said she wanted to release other people’s expectations of her, and the inner impression from others that says “your opinion doesn’t matter”. Maybe “power” means something completely different from the soul’s perspective. At one level, I almost felt apologetic to Nancy that the lifetime we went was so drama-less – like my client bought a ticket for a past life story, and I was not delivering a proper show.
It was such an ease to work with Victor. Some people have that aura. I felt it when we had a Skype consultation, where he told me what he was at crossroads. He’d had a successful career over the last twenty years making video games. But there was constant stress to meet aggressive deadlines, and he would work very intensively for stretches of time, only to be laid off when the projects were over.
This time, he started to hesitate. Should he go back to making games? He knew he could easily do so, although he had begun finding the work itself less fulfilling. Or should he do something new?
The year was 1907. Isabel lived in a small mountain house with her parents and three older brothers. Her father didn’t like her because she was a girl. “Girls are useless” her father would say. Her three brothers helped their father logging. The oldest brother took on the same attitude toward her as their father. Isabel only felt comfortable with her mother and two younger brothers.
Apollo chose to lie down on the couch. As he pulled the blanket over his body, he started to giggle, “This is real wow. It’s like a movie. Like I’m in a movie, on a therapist’s couch… hahaha…”
“Yes. Like a movie… And this movie starts here… continues somewhere else… ends in yet another surprising place…” My hypnotic tone started with the cue he gave me. As my speech slowed down, I matched his breathing. His eyes closed automatically in the comfort of the couch and my voice. I instructed his unconscious mind to take us to a favourite place…
Upon arrival for her appointment, I asked what she’d like to work on. Navneet said she felt lonely, and that she had a fear of being alone. Five years ago she broke up with her boyfriend. Ever since then she didn’t have much success finding a partner. There are trust issues. She doesn’t feel safe.
