Category: A Story

A story is a category telling true stories from my client work through hypnotherapy, mostly regression therapy. These individualized stories are ones that had great impression with me their hypnotherapist.

Fred’s Problem

Being in this profession, or maybe just like in any other professions, we meet very interesting people in very interesting ways.

Fred is such a young man. He is in his late 20’s, a computing and mathematical genius. His written and spoken skills are precise, scientific, articulate, and illustrative. He told me he has taken some courses in NLP (Neuron-Linguistic Programming) when he showed up. And I could see that he certainly knew how to do his thinking. His “problem” was more on social skills, or it seemed.

You Are the Reason That I Exist

I’m so lucky to meet people in this meaningful way. Some people, they walk into my therapy room. We are literally strangers to each other, but we connect. I feel their light shining bright. I recognize them. I know them. I see them. I feel very excited to work with them. There is that mutual trust that transcends the first 30 minutes after we meet, and transcends maybe thousands of years. I don’t even hypnotize them. My voice began, and they went into a most beautiful trance.

Her Father’s Childhood Friend

I grew up up in China. And I still have memories of Sino-Vietnamese War. I was in my early teens. It was a huge event at the time. Short-lived as it was (It officially lasted for one month in 1979, though the armed conflict lasted for the next ten years), the war was brutal. We heard news everyday from the radio. Back in China, we called that Defensive Counterattack against Vietnam.

Eventually the collective memory of the war went into the file of forgiving. I visited Vietnam three times in my adulthood. My impression of the country was peacefulness with beautiful land and water, even though one could feel past memories still weighed heavy there.

I Don’t Know Who I Am Anymore

“The reason I choose hypnotherapy is that they say a lot of limiting beliefs, and low self-esteem, are because when I grew up, my parents put the stuff such as ‘I am not good enough’ to my head, and hypnotherapy can take them out of my head.”

“Yes. Hypnotherapy can take them out of your head, sometimes easily, as long as you have not taken an identity out of ‘the stuff’.”

Coaching Ghost

“I don’t know. Maybe in hypnosis I’ll lose control. Maybe I’ll say things that I may not want to say.”

I still didn’t quite understand what exactly Carolyn was referring to, but I told Carolyn content-free hypnosis was completely possible. Besides, her subconscious mind is that protective mind. It will not say things to me that she was not ready for. Subconscious mind is even good at blocking things from ourselves, let alone another person.

Earth Angels Among Us

When Debbie comes back for the second session, I randomly ask what her spiritual outlook is. The answer to it generally gives me foundation for hypnotherapy work to be built on. If people were not sure what to say, I’d ask further, “What happens when the body dies?” The answer can open up ways for me to build their strength and confidence.

Debbie is hesitant. She seems afraid that I am going to judge her for her spirituality. She says she believes there is more to life than what meets the eye. “You may feel this is laughable, but sometimes my girlfriend and I talk about spirit… guides.” Her voice goes down and her tone goes up as she finishes the sentence.

Running from Fear – Past and Current Lives

“I feel I already know you,” says Britney, as she sits here on the couch in my hypnotherapy room, speaking very calmly, within the first 5 minutes we’ve met.

Britney is addressing the fact that she has read a lot of pages on my website before she contacted me for a series of hypnotherapy sessions.

I am curious. Her presenting issue is anxiety and fear, yet this person who’s sitting right in front of me, is composed, mature, and calm. There’s a natural peaceful energy around her that makes my breath even and thoughts clear. I feel instantly sitting with Britney is an enjoyable thing.

My New Year Present

Who’d think that I’d work on the New Year’s Day? No me. But I had forgotten to block my online calendar, which has become a public space online, for that day off. Or maybe I simply assumed that nobody would want to book a hypnotherapy session on this day, therefore didn’t bother.

Obviously that was not the case for Heather and Linda.

So it was too late. Surprise! I found that on the New Year’s Day, I had to work.

Both of them indicated that they wanted a Past Life Regression. So on this first day of a new year, before moving forward in time, two women want to go back, to view what they were.

Our Space Brothers

From time to time, I am contacted by people who had some “other worldly” experiences, namely experiences with extraterrestrial beings, be it sightings, encounters of all sorts or even abductions.

I found the biggest struggle with these people is not necessarily the experiences themselves – They have survived, obviously, no matter how out of control they felt in those situations – but that they cannot make sense of the experiences. They suffer from the lack of sense-making therefore the inability to share the experiences with others.

One man in his fifties I’ll call Johnny had multiple times of close encounters with those space beings, and he came to see me self-diagnosed as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder…

Does Being a Grown-up Mean Maturity?

Have you seen the 2016 English-language French-produced computer animated movie The Little Prince yet? – A Little Girl meets an eccentric old Aviator who tells her a fantastic tale about a young prince…

I enjoyed the movie, almost as much as the original classic tale. The new movie stays true to the original message of how fake we have built the world to be, and how tender our innocence is. That was moving.
