A Day of Peace

I got up very early this morning. While Paris Olympics just started, while someone I care for is having his birthday, while it’s the 5th anniversary of my mother’s passing, what I felt this morning was more of peace.

Kemila in a garden in Libourne

Peace is not a thing we look for, or search for, or have to work hard to find, or a reward after winning a battle. It is ALWAYS there inside of us if we choose to plug in and listen to our hearts, no matter where we are.

So it’s not about being in Paris for Olympics, not about being in my home city Vancouver for the birthday of the one I care for, not about being in China for my mom’s anniversary. The peace, I realize, no matter what events going on, the more we place ourselves in peaceful places, like in the garden of an old house that I’m staying in a small town Libourne in France, the easier it is to find. And I can’t recommend enough, not just going to a remote beautiful small old town, but your version, a balcony, a piece of sky, a creek, a pond, or anywhere you can connect with nature.

And most importantly, I recommend taking a moment to stay with your heart daily.

Ask your heart, how do you feel, now? What do you need, now?

Let your heart express. Give it a moment so the busy mind will not take over. When you listen, it’s not that you’ll need to do anything for it, but you’ll hear what you truly need to express yourself in the moment. Any action will be from the connectedness of yourself. After all, we always attach the word peace to another inner, therefore true peace doesn’t come from outside.

Your heart knows, and whatever action you take for it or the space you give to it will be a matter of happiness, because, happiness is your heart’s job.

They say, the more you share, the more you get. In this case, it means the more you hear from your heart, the safer it feels to tell you exactly what it needs, which, truth-be-told, is exactly what you need, too.

So listen to your heart, and have a good talk with him, her, or them, and then do something, anything for your heart to acknowledge its needs, wants, and desires.

It’s more than just positive self-talk. It helps you reconnect with your true inner self, or your higher self, and begin to reintegrate your heart, your mind, and your soul at the highest level.

So do this, listening to your heart for peace. Not only will you feel better, and sleep better, but you’ll begin to find that peace you’ve been looking for.
